Accreditation & Recognition

The PHFI Institute of Public Health Sciences (Deemed to be University) has been notified by the Ministry of Education, Government of India under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956.

The PHFI-IPHS is empowered to award degrees as specified by the UGC and operates in accordance with the provisions of the UGC (Institutions Deemed to be Universities) Regulations, 2023.

The PHFI-IPHS is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic quality, integrity, and regulatory compliance. Institutional accreditation through the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and program-level recognition from relevant statutory and professional bodies will be pursued as per UGC guidelines.

Gazette Notification

The conferment of “Deemed to be University” status to the PHFI Institute of Public Health Sciences (comprising the campuses at Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Bhubaneswar) was officially notified by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, through the Gazette of India dated 5 July 2025.

This notification grants the University academic and administrative autonomy to design and deliver its own degree programs in line with the UGC Act,1956 and applicable national regulations.
