Chancellor
Dr. K. Srinath Reddy serves as the Chancellor of the PHFI Institute of Public Health Sciences (Deemed to be University). A globally respected leader in public health, Dr. Reddy has been instrumental in shaping the public health discourse in India and beyond.
He is the Founder and Past President of the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) and has played a pioneering role in building institutional capacity for public health education, research, and policy in the country. Under his leadership, PHFI established the Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) across multiple regions, laying the foundation for the present Deemed University.
A former Head of the Department of Cardiology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, Dr. Reddy has combined his expertise in clinical medicine, epidemiology, and health systems to advance preventive and population health globally.
He has served as President of the World Heart Federation, Advisor to the Government of India, and member of numerous national and international expert bodies, including the World Health Organization (WHO), Lancet Commissions, and UN panels on health and sustainable development.
Dr. Reddy has received several national and international honours for his contributions to public health and medical science, including Padma Bhushan (2005), India’s third-highest civilian award.
